SONGSHINE/RESONANT SILENCE TECHNIQUE CLASSES
Every Tuesday from 12-1:30 PM SongShine/Resonant Silence Technique Classes are given at the Anacortes Senior Activity Center. These classes are for folks with Parkinson's, Stroke, MS, Alzheimer's and other neurological and cognitive conditions.
Music has been found to be brain integrative by activating many different areas of the brain all at once. Through vocal exercises and group singing, SongShine helps to strengthen the voice for well being and better communication. In Resonant Silence Technique, subtle sound and intentional shared silence are used to slow brain waves and integrate information so that the brain can grow new neurons to manifest in better health and functionality. Ancient QiGong energy healing practices are included to promote peacefulness, balance and stability in standing and walking. Our whole body/mind/spirit is addressed in this class.
DISCOVERING OUR BLISS WITHIN Wednesday evenings, 6:30 – 7:30 pm, Sept. 26th – Oct. 31 | Cost: $20 at the LaConner United Methodist Church, 601 South 2nd St in LaConner Wash.
This new class is taught by Reverend Marcella Baker of the LaConner United Methodist Church and Cantor Miriam Fein of Shalom Circle Jewish Community of Skagit Valley. Jesus taught that the "Kingdom of God is within you." But how do we access or discover that "kingdom"? One way is through Resonant Silence Technique, created by Cantor Miriam Fein and Matthew Fox's Creation Spirituality as taught by Reverend Marcella Baker. With gentle tones and the rich supportive presence of silence, Cantor Miriam guides us into a more inward focused awareness. Once we are comfortable being focused inwardly, Reverend Marcella gently helps us to easily identify which of the 4 paths of Matthew Fox's Creation Spirituality that we are on, be they the path of Positiva, Negativa, Creativa or Transformativa. With Reverend Marcella guidance we learn which path we're on and which path we need to move to in order to grow more deeply into our Oneness and bliss.
